We keep the communication line open!
We keep the communication line open!
1. Q: Can you give medications?
A: We are unable to administer medications unless required by a doctor. Even then, it must be only if the medication MUST be given during the school day. (If the medication is prescribed for twice a day it can be given morning and night by the parent). We are unable to administer over-the-counter medications. If a child is sick enough to require constant medication, they are too sick to be at daycare according to the state of Utah. We are licensed as a well child facility. A sick child at daycare makes everyone else sick.
A: Unfortunately all children do get sick from time to time. But we go to great lengths to keep our facility very clean and disinfected, and this helps to prevent the spread of germs. No place is germ free.
2. Q: Do the children go outside?
A: All the children get to go outside on a regular basis at Hobble Creek Family Daycare. They never go outside without an adult and are supervised constantly.
3. Q: Is there an education curriculum?
A: Education begins at birth! Babies and toddlers are provided with plenty of age appropriate toys and are held and talked to and given lots of love. Toddlers learn to interact and share and learn basic life skills as they play. All children aged three (by the end of the previous school year) and above are included in pre-school at no extra charge. We follow a weekly theme and our calendar is posted by the door. We are happy for parents to take home a copy too!
A: Our playroom has blocks, puzzles, legos and other age-specific toys and activities to do during free time. There are also parts of the day that the activities are adult-led, for example, circle time and story time. We have indoor and outdoor play equipment. Tables are child sized and just right for coloring, reading and art activities. Large couches are perfect for rest or curling up with a book.
4. Q: Can I visit the facility without an appointment?
A: At Hobble Creek Family Daycare , we have an open door policy. We welcome current parents to our daycare at any time. Your child will be brought to you so you may spend time together. For the safety of the other children, adults are not permitted to interact with children other than their own. Prospective parents must schedule an appointment after our hours of operation as we do not let strangers into the daycare during the day. The safety of the children is foremost.
5. Q: Is there a nap time?
A: Nap time is from 1PM to 3PM. All children are expected to rest during this time. After a long and active morning, they need the rest. This time also allows us to clean up and prepare for the afternoon activities and to take a break. Please remember than unlike most jobs, we do not take breaks during the day. Nap time is our only break in a 12-13 hour work day. The children are in constant view during nap time.
